The Jammu and Kashmir Police's State Investigation Agency (SIA) has achieved a significant milestone by arresting a notorious drug smuggler, Zafraan Khan, who had been on the run for three years.
Khan, hailing from Mohra Dawran in Uri, Baramulla, was detained on Tuesday by a specialized SIA team in Kathua district. His apprehension deals a substantial blow to a Pakistan-backed narco-terror network smuggling narcotic substances across the Line of Control.
This arrest is part of an intensified crackdown on narco-terror modules. A case under the NDPS Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, involving large narcotics seizures, has already led to charges being filed against other module members. The SIA aims to dismantle the networks fuelling terrorism in Kashmir.
