Bihar's New Task Force Combats Narcotics Trafficking

The Bihar government has established a task force to combat illicit trade and smuggling of narcotics, combining prohibition and narcotics units under one statewide force. This initiative aims to dismantle drug networks with coordinated efforts, focusing on wholesaler operations and involving 339 positions, including 100 newly sanctioned ones.

The Bihar government has taken a strict stance against narcotics trafficking by forming a specialized task force to tackle the rampant illicit trade of narcotics and psychotropic substances.

Headed by an officer of ADG or Inspector General rank, this Prohibition and anti-Narcotics Task Force represents a significant step forward in dealing with drug-related offenses effectively across the state.

With 339 approved positions, the task force aims to disrupt drug networks by targeting wholesalers and identifying both forward and backward linkages in the supply chain, ensuring a robust approach to dismantling these illicit operations.
