The Supreme Court announced on Friday that it would hear Vodafone Idea's plea targeting the annulment of additional AGR demands dating up to 2016-17 on September 26.

A bench comprising Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justices K Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria set the date after considering arguments put forth by senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi for Vodafone Idea and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta representing the Centre.

The company is challenging a previous decision by the apex court which dismissed requests to revise the calculation errors in AGR dues. The court's earlier ruling had established a staggered payment plan for telcos to clear dues amounting to Rs 93,520 crore by 2031.
