Reinforcing the Government of India’s commitment to accessible and preventive healthcare for women and families, the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is actively implementing the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan across its hospital network. On 18th September 2025, two major ESIC facilities—ESIC Hospital, Gurugram (Haryana) and ESIC Hospital, Peenya, Bengaluru (Karnataka)—hosted a series of impactful activities designed to promote women’s health, workplace well-being, and early detection of diseases.
ESIC Hospital, Gurugram: Strengthening Preventive Care
The second day of the campaign at Gurugram showcased a comprehensive approach to preventive health:
-
In-Hospital Health Camps: Beneficiaries underwent screenings for diabetes, haemoglobin levels, oral cancer, breast cancer, tuberculosis (TB), and cervical cancer, along with antenatal care (ANC) registrations. ENT and eye check-ups—including vision testing, glaucoma, and cataract screenings—were also provided, addressing both communicable and lifestyle-related health risks.
-
Awareness Session on Immunization: A dedicated talk on “Immunization in Pregnant Women and Children” highlighted the life-saving importance of timely vaccinations. Patients engaged in interactive discussions that helped dispel myths, build confidence, and encourage adoption of preventive healthcare.
-
Workplace Outreach at Vinay Corporation: Extending services to industrial workers, ESIC organised an on-site camp where 45 employees were screened for diabetes, hypertension, and anaemia. By taking healthcare directly to workplaces, ESIC ensured that workers received early medical advice and personalised counselling without losing valuable work hours.
ESIC Hospital, Peenya, Bengaluru: Extending Care to Workers and Families
In Bengaluru’s industrial hub, ESIC Hospital, Peenya, combined in-hospital services with industrial outreach initiatives:
-
Outreach Camp at Indian Design Exports Pvt. Ltd.: A total of 75 insured persons (68 women and 7 men) participated. Health checks included questionnaire-based screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), clinical tests for hypertension, diabetes, anaemia, TB, and cancers, along with counselling sessions on lifestyle management, nutrition, vaccination, and menstrual hygiene. Immediate treatment was provided for those with common ailments.
-
Hospital-Based Registrations and Screenings: Within the hospital, 50 women and their dependents were registered under the Abhiyan. They received Pap smears for cervical cancer screening, breast cancer checks, anaemia detection, and tests for hypertension, diabetes, oral malignancies, and dental health. Such targeted interventions addressed critical aspects of women’s health.
-
Digital Health Awareness: Beneficiaries were introduced to the AAA App, designed to provide easy digital access to health services, medical records, and information resources. This step reflects ESIC’s alignment with the Government’s Digital Health Mission.
A Holistic Approach to Women’s Health
The Gurugram and Peenya activities highlighted ESIC’s dual strategy of hospital-based care and workplace outreach, ensuring preventive health coverage for both urban families and industrial workers. The programme directly contributes to empowering women with knowledge, access, and timely diagnosis, ultimately benefiting entire families.
Towards Accessible Preventive Healthcare
By integrating awareness sessions, clinical screenings, digital tools, and outreach, ESIC is creating a model of community-focused healthcare delivery. The initiative is also closely aligned with the Government’s vision of “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar”, recognising that women’s health is central to family and community well-being.
The ongoing Abhiyan demonstrates ESIC’s commitment to not just providing treatment, but also promoting early detection, prevention, and education, building resilience against health challenges in both households and workplaces.
