Dramatic Capture in Double Murder Case: Alleged Mastermind Shot in Escape Attempt

Authorities have arrested five individuals in connection with a brutal double murder that shocked the quiet village of Kannur in Vijayapura taluk. The alleged mastermind, Akshay Juljule, was shot in the leg after attempting to escape police custody, highlighting the dramatic nature of law enforcement's efforts to bring justice.

Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi explained the situation, saying, \"Police fired a warning shot in the air, but when the accused persisted in his escape attempt, he was consequently shot in the leg.\" Juljule, who faces several charges, is currently receiving medical treatment under police supervision.

The murders, reportedly a retaliation act, took the lives of Sagar Belundagi and Isahak Khureshi on a fateful Sunday. As investigations proceed, police have detained Muthana Gowda, Santosh, Sanjay, Bharat, and Akshay in this escalating case. A murder case is active at Vijayapura Rural Police Station while further inquiries continue.
