The West Bengal Police intensified their investigation into the Durgapur gang rape incident on Tuesday by taking the accused and the survivor's friend back to the crime scene. The reconstruction is a crucial part of the probe, aiming to align their reenactments with previous statements provided to the authorities.
Police brought the five individuals to Paranaganj Kali Bari's adjacent jungle to reconstruct the Friday night events allegedly involving the survivor. Officers are meticulously matching these reenactments with statements from all parties, including the victim, to piece together the night's occurrences.
In a bid to gather more evidence, officers also searched the homes of the accused, seizing clothes believed to have been worn during the crime. Forensic tests on these items and seized mobile phones are expected to shed further light on the case as the investigation continues.
