The Superintendent of Police has taken decisive action by suspending two officers in connection with allegations of a staged encounter during a robbery investigation, officials announced.
The incident came to light after an attempted robbery was reported at a trader's house in Mursan on October 9, where two suspects were apprehended following an encounter that resulted in one suspect being shot in the leg.
Claiming the encounter was fabricated, the injured man's family, with backing from several political parties, demanded an impartial investigation. In response, the SP ordered suspensions and tasked the Hathras Gate Police Station, under the guidance of the Circle Officer (City), to conduct a fair probe.
