Arrest in West Bengal: Attempted Assault on Mentally Challenged Girl

A man was arrested in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district for attempting to sexually assault a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl. The girl was found nearly unconscious and was taken to a hospital for a medical test. CCTV footage helped in identifying and arresting the suspect.

A man has been apprehended on charges of attempting to sexually assault a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, according to police reports.

The victim was discovered in an almost unconscious state and rushed to a local government hospital, where a medical examination was conducted, confirmed Barasat's SP, Pratiksha Jharkhariya.

The arrest followed a thorough examination of area CCTV footage and medical tests. Authorities have detained a suspect from Duttapukur as investigations continue, SP Jharkhariya stated.
