West Bengal Correctional Services Minister Chandranath Sinha faced the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigation into the primary school teacher recruitment scam, according to a senior agency official.
This marks Sinha's third encounter with the ED, having been questioned twice before. The minister arrived at the ED's Salt Lake office carrying multiple files and documents.
Sources within the agency revealed that Sinha's name was discovered in a diary belonging to Kuntal Ghosh, a primary suspect in the case. The diary reportedly lists over a hundred names allegedly implicated in the scam. As a result, the ED conducted several raids at Sinha's home, uncovering documents and Rs 41 lakh in cash. A charge-sheet has been filed against Sinha, who surrendered to the court and sought anticipatory bail following these developments.
