In a joint operation by Mawlai Police and the Special Operations Team, five individuals believed to be Bangladesh nationals were apprehended in Shillong for failing to possess valid travel documents.
The arrests occurred at the ISBT junction during a routine check after police received a tip-off about their journey.
The suspects, who arrived from Srinagar, aimed to travel to Bangladesh through Shillong without proper documentation, leading to a criminal case and their remand to judicial custody.
