The Delhi High Court has scheduled a hearing for November 21 on Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra's challenge to a Lokpal order authorizing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file a chargesheet against her in the cash-for-query scandal.
Justices Anil Khetarpal and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar will review the Lokpal's sealed order regarding Moitra's alleged acceptance of cash and gifts in exchange for parliamentary questions. Moitra argues the sanction is flawed, accuses Lokpal of dismissing her arguments, and calls it a violation of justice principles.
Moitra seeks to halt the CBI's actions, including chargesheet filing, during the case's pendency. The CBI's report led to the Lokpal's move, with allegations against Moitra involving national security concerns. The expulsion from Lok Sabha in December and her challenge against it remain ongoing matters.
