The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named and filed charges against 10 individuals in connection with smuggling a young Bangladeshi girl into Odisha for trafficking purposes, authorities announced on Tuesday.

Officials indicated the alleged perpetrators enticed the minor with employment promises, only to coerce her into a trafficking ring for monetary gains. Reports suggest the gang preyed upon the dire financial situation of her family to carry out their scheme, highlighting a pervasive human trafficking network compromising regional borders.

In response, the NIA intensified the investigation by probing sites across West Bengal, culminating in the arrests of additional suspects linked to the network. Evidence gleaned from social media and financial analysis led to the apprehension of key associates, finalizing charges against all 10 suspects.
