A complex web of deceit was unveiled in an arrest made on Tuesday, where a woman named Divyanshi is accused of honey-trapping government officials, marrying them, and later extorting substantial sums of money. The police report disclosed that Divyanshi's method involved forming relationships with officials, deceitfully tying the knot with some, and subsequently threatening them with false accusations to extract money.
Her operations hint at a larger network, as bank transactions trace over Rs 8 crore linked to various accounts, including some associated with serving police officers. The law enforcement intends to uncover more about these connections, suspecting several personnel might have acted as accomplices or threatened victims into submission.
Divyanshi's arrest followed a complaint by her husband and police officer Aditya Kumar Lovach, who alleged harassment, cheating, and extortion. The digital evidence and transactional patterns reveal a sinister scheme that may lead to additional arrests as the investigation deepens.
