Top Naxalite commander Madvi Hidma, who masterminded several high-profile attacks over two decades, met his end in an encounter in Andhra Pradesh, a pivotal moment in India's fight against Left Wing Extremism. The Chhattisgarh Police have called this victory a 'last nail in the coffin' against insurgency operations.
Hidma was killed alongside his wife Madkam Raje and four other Naxalites in the Maredumilli forest. This operation marks a decisive achievement in anti-Naxal activities, according to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who lauded the joint forces for their courage and strategic execution.
Hidma was notorious for orchestrating brutal attacks, including the 2013 Jhiram Valley attack. His elimination promises a new dawn of peace, said Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range Sundarraj Pattilingam. This operation serves as an admonition for remaining Maoist cadres to reconsider their path.
