An Israeli military offensive in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon has left 11 dead and four wounded, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry on Tuesday.
The Israeli Defense Forces stated that the attack targeted militants operating within a training compound situated in the densely populated Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near Sidon. This compound, they claimed, has been a base for the Palestinian movement Hamas to execute assaults against Israeli territories.
No immediate response was issued by Hamas in the wake of the strike.
