A 53-year-old clerk at a private school in Maharashtra's Latur has been arrested for allegedly molesting girl students, according to a local official. The accused, identified as Dattatray Martand Bhutampalle, was remanded to police custody by a local court for three days.

One of the victims reported that she had been molested by the clerk and faced obscene remarks over several months. Her disclosure prompted other students to come forward with similar allegations, Inspector Santosh Patil told PTI.

Despite initially alerting senior teachers, who demanded proof and took no action, the victims turned to their parents. This led to the filing of a police complaint. Charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have been lodged against Bhutampalle and two others, Dayanand Kamble and Satyabhama Nagime, at Vivekanand Chowk police station.
