A daring cybercrime, involving impersonation of an Army officer, was unraveled as Kochi cyber police arrested Vikram Sardhana in Rajasthan. Sardhana, accused of cheating a couple looking to rent their home, was apprehended in a meticulously planned midnight operation.
Hailing from Jaipur, the accused convinced the couple to transfer Rs 60,000, promising a refund twice the amount due to alleged banking issues. Upon realizing that it was a scam, the couple alerted the authorities, leading to a swift investigation and subsequent manhunt.
With the cooperation of Rajasthan's special operations team, the police cornered and captured Sardhana at a residence in Manoharpur. Post-arrest, he was transferred to Kochi, where judicial proceedings are underway, highlighting a significant cybercrime crackdown.
