Assassination Attempt Shakes Howrah's Political Scene

In a chilling attack late Thursday night in Howrah, West Bengal, TMC gram panchayat member Debobrata Mondal and his associate were shot by unidentified assailants.

Mondal, along with Anupam Rana, was attacked on a motorcycle returning home. Severely injured, both were rushed to hospitals with Mondal being transferred to Kolkata for further treatment.

Authorities have initiated a probe, examining CCTV footage to trace the attackers, while political leaders demand swift justice. A notorious history-sheeter has emerged as a suspect in the case.
