A harrowing incident has unfolded in Maharashtra's Thane district, where a 39-year-old man, Popat Dilip Dahij, allegedly murdered his wife, Jyoti Dahij, before taking his own life. The tragic event has left the local community in shock.
The police launched an exhaustive search for Popat after his wife was discovered dead in their Dombivali residence. The situation came to light when Popat failed to appear at his job, prompting his employer to send a colleague to their home. Jyoti was found strangled and attacked with a sharp object, confirming foul play.
Popat's whereabouts were traced through his mobile phone, leading Kurla railway police to identify him as the man who had committed suicide by leaping in front of a train at Bhandup station. Authorities suspect a domestic dispute as the murder's motive, but investigations are ongoing.
