Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has stepped forward to extend support to nearly 300 Indian nationals stranded at Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport following Cyclone Ditwah. The affected passengers, many from Kerala, have faced severe disruptions, lacking basic necessities such as food and water for three days.
In a letter addressed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Vijayan highlighted the urgency of the situation, urging immediate intervention to assist those waiting to return home or embark on international journeys. The chief minister emphasized the state's readiness to offer any necessary aid in this crisis.
The cyclone has caused significant chaos at the airport, turning it into an unplanned stopover for stranded Indians. Vijayan appealed for swift governmental action to alleviate the ongoing hardships faced by these citizens, underlining Kerala's commitment to provide comprehensive support.
