Odisha's Campaign Against Bangladeshi Infiltrators

The Odisha government has intensified its efforts to address the issue of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, identifying 51 infiltrators and deporting 49 to date, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi told the Assembly.
Majhi highlighted that the BJP-led government, since taking office in June 2024, has coordinated with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to establish a Special Task Force (STF) aiding the identification and deportation process.
With two holding centres state-level and 18 at the district level, Odisha is ensuring legal processes are strictly adhered to, bolstered by the collaboration of the Intelligence Bureau and other agencies, to curb illegal immigration effectively.
