In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police have successfully apprehended Monu, also known as Murga, who was long wanted in connection with an attempt-to-murder case dating back to 2021. The arrest occurred in west Delhi, law enforcement officials announced on Friday.
Police records reveal that Monu was implicated in a case at Rajouri Garden police station for allegedly stabbing an individual named Shivam during a dispute over small monetary issues. After receiving bail in April 2021, Monu ceased attending court proceedings, leading to his designation as a proclaimed offender by February 2025.
The accused, known for his criminal tendencies, has a record of four prior cases involving assault, outraging modesty, and rape under the POCSO Act, as well as attempted murder. A strategic operation by the police, acting on a tip-off, resulted in Monu's capture, marking a significant step in law enforcement efforts to bring habitual offenders to justice.
