The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Pune police intensified its investigation into the controversial Mundhwa land deal on Friday, conducting extensive searches at the homes of Shital Tejwani, who has been detained for her alleged role in the sale of a 40-acre government land parcel.
Tejwani, serving as the power of attorney holder, purportedly orchestrated the sale to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a company involving Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son, for an exorbitant Rs 300 crore. The official EOW stance remains guarded regarding the confiscated documents during the searches.
Authorities are keen on unraveling the monetary transactions and legal falsehoods, as the land in question has been government-owned since 1955. Despite repeated court rejections since 2013, Tejwani allegedly conspired with other firm members to execute fraudulent legal claims.
