In a tragic incident, Ganesh Gowda, a 38-year-old Congress worker, lost his life during a violent clash between two groups in Sakharayapatna, Kadur taluk, police confirmed on Saturday.

The altercation erupted over a banner near a math, leading to several injuries and culminating in Gowda's murder. Authorities report that earlier tensions had flared between the groups near a bar in the same area. Police, spearheaded by the Scene of Crime Officer team, are actively piecing together the sequence of events and working to identify the culprits.

Top officials, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwara, have vowed to deliver justice and ensure the perpetrators face severe legal consequences. Efforts to apprehend suspects are ongoing, with strict measures being discussed to prevent future disturbances.
