A significant breakthrough for Delhi Police as they have successfully apprehended Sanjay, also known as Jhallu, a notorious member of the Bawaria gang. The suspect, who was wanted in connection with more than a dozen serious crimes across Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, was arrested in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, marking a significant setback for the interstate criminal network he operated.
Officials have revealed that Sanjay was not just any felon but an elusive criminal with a record of involvement in 34 cases, ranging from attempted murder and robbery to violations of the Arms Act. He had previously been convicted in a snatching case but continued his illegal enterprises involving organized crime alongside his associates, deftly moving between UP, Haryana, and Punjab to stay out of law enforcement's reach.
The operation, which culminated in his capture, involved a rigorous two-week tracking of his movements. Despite being a proclaimed offender with multiple non-bailable warrants out against him, Sanjay managed to evade capture until this recent raid. Authorities are now in the process of verifying various cases linked to him in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Muradabad, and Amroha, with further investigations underway.
