Controversy Erupts over SC, ST, and OBC Certificates in West Bengal

West Bengal's Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has raised concerns over the state government, led by TMC, allegedly fast-tracking the issuance of SC, ST, and OBC certificates. The state, Adhikari accused, is conducting this through frantic camps aimed at adding ineligible individuals to voter rolls.

Adhikari shared a memo about camps scheduled from December 8 to 12 at panchayat offices in Murshidabad, asking the Election Commission to scrutinize certificates issued after June 24. He suggested this was linked to a Special Intensive Revision exercise aimed at unmasking voter fraud.

He claimed the move was an attempt to insert ineligible voters into the system, diluting democracy. Adhikari called for an exhaustive probe into these certificates, emphasizing the need to ensure that true marginalized communities retain their entitlements.
