Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday categorically rejected the allegations leveled by actor Dileep against police officials in the high-profile actress sexual assault case. Vijayan emphasized that investigators had operated on the basis of available evidence and reiterated the state's support for the survivor.
Addressing reporters, the CM denied receiving any complaint from Dileep about an alleged conspiracy to implicate him and suggested Dileep clarify his statements. The Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court recently acquitted Dileep while convicting six others, including the prime accused Sunil N S, also known as Pulsar Suni.
Dileep alleged a conspiracy against him, naming a senior woman police officer and others as responsible for supposedly fabricating a false narrative with the help of the prime accused. The government plans to appeal the verdict, reinforcing their continued support for the survivor.
