Teen Arrested in Pune for Alleged Assault on Minor

An 18-year-old man from Pune has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl, officials reported on Tuesday. Authorities disclosed that the incident happened on December 4 in the city's Vishrantwadi area.

The accused reportedly befriended the 14-year-old girl two months ago. On the day of the crime, he allegedly offered her a ride to school on his motorcycle but instead took her to a secluded area where the assault took place. The perpetrator threatened her after the incident, a Vishrantwadi police official explained.

The minor disclosed the ordeal to her father on December 7, leading to the filing of a criminal complaint. The accused faces charges under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
