Major Marijuana Bust: Ganja Worth Over Rs 10 Lakh Seized

A man was arrested in Nashik district, Maharashtra, for possessing 50 kg of marijuana valued at over Rs 10 lakh. The arrest, made by the local crime branch based on a tip-off, resulted in charges under the NDPS Act.

In a significant drug bust, Nashik district police apprehended a man and seized marijuana worth more than Rs 10 lakh, according to official reports on Tuesday.

Following a tip-off, the Nashik rural police's local crime branch arrested Chander Namdev Bharsat on Saturday in the Kochargaon area of Dindori taluka as he attempted to sell the illegal substance.

The police revealed that Bharsat was caught with 50 kg of marijuana, valued at Rs 10,02,600, leading to charges under the applicable sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
