Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Western Air Command (WAC), Indian Air Force, conducted an official visit to Air Force Station Faridabad on 10 December 2025. The senior commander was received by Group Captain V. Viswanathan, Station Commander, who briefed him on the station’s current operational preparedness, logistics capability, and welfare initiatives aimed at strengthening personnel efficiency and morale.

A major highlight of the visit was the AOC-in-C’s review of the Passing Out Parade of No. 80 Explosive Detection (ED) Dog Course at the prestigious Air Force K9 School. The newly trained ED dogs, having completed an intensive and highly specialized detection regimen, will now be inducted into security duties across various operational units of the IAF. Air Marshal Mishra commended the school for maintaining exceptional training standards, incorporating innovative instructional techniques, and ensuring that the canines are mission-ready for sensitive explosive detection tasks that are critical to base and asset security.

The AOC-in-C also inspected key operational logistics installations at the station, reviewing their functionality, infrastructure adequacy, and ability to deliver rapid support during high-tempo operations. He assessed the efficiency of warehousing, storage systems, and material handling processes, and emphasized the importance of maintaining high levels of readiness to meet urgent operational requirements with minimal notice, particularly as the IAF continues to expand and modernize its combat, support, and surveillance assets.

During interactions with station personnel, Air Marshal Mishra highlighted that logistics preparedness remains one of the pivotal pillars of operational capability. He stressed that regular evaluation of supply chains, storage security, and resource management is essential for sustaining mission success during both peacetime and contingency operations.

As the Indian Air Force accelerates its modernization drive—introducing next-generation aircraft, advanced sensors, and integrated support systems—such command visits play a crucial role in identifying challenges, refining operational doctrines, strengthening force protection measures, and ensuring that frontline units remain fully prepared for any emerging security scenario.
