Abhay Kumar Singh Takes Charge as Tamil Nadu's In-Charge DGP

Abhay Kumar Singh, DVAC director, has been appointed as Tamil Nadu's in-charge DGP while the incumbent G Venkatraman is on medical leave. Singh, a 1993 batch IPS officer, will serve temporarily from December 9 to 23, as per the government order issued on December 10.

Abhay Kumar Singh, the director of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), has been appointed as the in-charge Director General of Police (DGP) in Tamil Nadu.

This move comes after the current DGP, G Venkatraman, proceeded on a 15-day medical leave to receive treatment. Singh, who belongs to the 1993 batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and holds the rank of DGP, will temporarily assume the responsibilities during this period.

The official government order, dated December 10, specifies that Venkatraman's leave extends from December 9 to 23, during which Singh will oversee the state's police force.
