In the aftermath of deadly clashes between tribal and Bengali communities, two Odisha ministers visited Malkangiri on Thursday to assess the situation. The district has been tense since the discovery of a murdered tribal woman.
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo, alongside MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallick, led a critical meeting with officials to address the crisis in MV-26 village, which is now under increased security after violence on Sunday and Monday.
Tensions escalated as Bengali settlers clashed with tribals prompted by the recovery of a headless body. Authorities have extended internet bans to curb violence, while the state government deploys security forces and sets peace talks in motion.
