In a high-intensity operation, police apprehended a fugitive named Vicky, suspected to be a key figure in a recent murder case in Ennore. The standoff took place on Friday when law enforcement tracked him down to Thiruvottiyur.
Vicky, alleged to be part of a ten-member gang responsible for the brutal murder of Sathya, a 23-year-old history-sheeter, attempted to escape by hurling a petrol bomb at pursuing officers. In response, the police shot him in the leg, leading to his capture.
The incident resulted in both Vicky and an injured sub-inspector being hospitalized at Government Stanley Hospital. An investigation is ongoing following the registration of a case against the suspect.
