AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has fiercely criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government over its Mekedatu dam project, alleging it aims to disrupt Tamil Nadu's water supply and turn the state into a desert.
Palaniswami accused the DMK of failing to effectively advocate for Tamil Nadu in legal platforms like the Supreme Court and the Cauvery Management Authority, thus endangering the state's water rights and livelihood.
In response to Karnataka creating an expert panel to expedite the project, Tamil Nadu has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court, underscoring the potential adverse impacts of the reservoir on the region.
