Ex-Air Force Officer Arrest Highlights Espionage Threat
A retired Indian Air Force officer has been arrested in Assam on charges of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence. Authorities have confiscated his electronic devices for forensic analysis, although some data had been erased. The suspect is held under police custody as investigations continue.

In a significant development within national security concerns, a retired Indian Air Force personnel has been apprehended in Assam's Sonitpur district, accused of espionage activities linked to Pakistani intelligence. Local law enforcement confirmed the arrest on Saturday.
Additional Superintendent of Police Haricharan Bhumij stated that initial investigations unveiled the suspect's transmission of sensitive documents and intelligence via social media platforms to Pakistani operatives. The authorities confiscated his laptop and mobile phone to assist in the probe.
Despite some data having been deleted, these devices have been sent for rigorous forensic examination. The detainee, previously a junior warrant officer who retired in 2002, has also worked at Tezpur University. A case has been filed under the relevant legal provisions, and the individual remains in police custody for further interrogation.
