Uttar Pradesh has successfully led the country in the digital registration of Waqf properties, completing registrations for 92,832 assets on the Centre's 'Ummeed' portal ahead of the scheduled deadline. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the leader in the digital registration of Waqf properties through the Centre's 'Ummeed' portal. The state recorded a remarkable 92,832 properties registered, setting a high standard in meeting the Ministry of Minority Affairs' directives. The initial deadline, set for December 5, 2025, was extended by six months, yet Uttar Pradesh completed the task well ahead of time, showcasing its commitment to efficiency.

According to official records, these registrations include 86,347 Sunni and 6,485 Shia Waqf properties, marking the highest count in the country as per the portal's data. Aggressive awareness campaigns and robust administrative support were key contributors to this early completion, ensuring effective compliance from Mutawallis managing properties across various districts.

Districts like Lucknow, Amroha, and Meerut showed leadership in the registration of Shia Waqf properties, while Barabanki dominated the Sunni category, followed closely by Sitapur and Azamgarh. This digital initiative aims to enhance transparency, reduce misuse, and support the protection and development of Waqf properties.
