Two foreign nationals were detained at Nal Civil Airport in Bikaner after being found with a suspicious wildlife article, suspected to contain deer bones, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The tourists, a French couple, were en route from Bikaner to Delhi when security checks at the airport unearthed the controversial item. Consequently, forest department officials swiftly intervened, detaining the couple and confiscating the article.
Bikaner DFO Venkatesh indicated that preliminary examinations at the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences suggested the item contained animal parts, with samples sent to Dehradun for species confirmation. Both tourists remain detained, with their embassy being notified of the incident.
