Polish Student Arrested Over Alleged Christmas Market Terror Plot

Polish security services have apprehended a student suspected of plotting a 'mass attack' at a Christmas market, according to Jacek Dobrzynski, spokesperson for Poland's special services. The accused, identified as Mateusz W., is said to have planned to carry out the attack using explosives.
The investigation revealed intentions to intimidate the public and express allegiance to the Islamic State. Internal Security Agency officers have confiscated data carriers and items related to Islam, Dobrzynski stated on platform X. The prosecutor's office has charged Mateusz W. with preparing a terrorist attack that could lead to significant casualties.
Efforts to establish communication with a terrorist organization were also part of the suspect's alleged actions. Authorities have not yet disclosed detailed information about Mateusz W., who is currently detained for an initial period of three months while the investigation continues.
