The altercation broke out late Tuesday evening as prison officials attempted to intervene during a scuffle among prisoners. This led to a situation where around 200 inmates attacked the police near one of the jail's barracks.
The incident garnered significant attention, with sirens audible outside the complex for nearly 20 minutes. Punjab Jail Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar demands a full report, and a case has been filed as investigations continue.
