In North Goa, a court has mandated a fresh medical examination for Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub, following their deportation from Thailand. The brothers face serious charges related to a December 6 fire that claimed 25 lives.
Brought to Mapusa Court after health checks at North Goa's District Hospital, the Luthras were initially evaluated at a Primary Health Centre in Siolim. Their case involves charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, as the Anjuna police pursue legal action against them.
The two fled to Thailand shortly after the tragic fire, triggering international coordination for their capture. Arrested in Delhi following their deportation, the brothers are under a two-day transit remand by Goa Police, while five other nightclub staff have been detained in connection with the case.
