In an unexpected glitch during Thursday's Navi Mumbai civic polls, Maharashtra Forest Minister and senior BJP leader Ganesh Naik found his name missing from the voters' list, rendering him unable to cast his vote.
Naik, who traditionally votes at Navi Mumbai School No. 94 with his family, discovered that his voting location had been shifted to St Mary High School. However, on reaching there, not only was the informed room number 9 absent, but his name was not listed either.
Calling out the State Election Commission for this oversight, Naik expressed concerns about the impact on regular voters. As voting took place across 29 municipal corporations in the state, Naik's situation underscores potential widespread administrative lapses.
