The acquittal of the accused, Samad, was pronounced by Additional Sessions Judge Twinkle Wadhwa, who highlighted significant lapses in the investigation.

The court observed discrepancies in the statements of the complainant and pointed out that no eye-witness testimony was presented. The prosecution's failure to prove guilt 'beyond reasonable doubt' was influenced by prior enmity between the involved parties, further weakening their case.

Judge Wadhwa criticized the substantial improvements made in the complainant's statement and noted that the evidence suggested a neighborhood dispute rather than a sexual assault. Consequently, the court ordered Samad's acquittal, setting aside his conviction for outraging the modesty of a woman.
