Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp (RDC) at Delhi Cantt on 15 January 2026, where she lauded the discipline, dedication and national spirit displayed by cadets from across the country.

Impressed by the cadets’ synchronised march, band performances and cultural presentations, the Chief Minister said their conduct reflected the “heartbeat of the nation” and showcased the strength of India’s youth.

Role of NCC in Nation-Building

Mrs. Gupta highlighted the NCC’s contribution to shaping courageous, responsible and socially conscious citizens, noting that the organisation instils lifelong values of nationalism, unity and constitutional commitment among young people.

She emphasised the importance of NCC’s holistic training framework, particularly its focus on national integration through initiatives such as Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camps and Special National Integration Camps, which promote cultural understanding and unity in diversity.

Youth as Future Leaders

In her concluding remarks, the Chief Minister expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision that “today’s cadets are tomorrow’s leaders.” She said NCC cadets would go on to serve the nation in diverse roles while remaining firmly committed to India’s unity, integrity and dignity.

Calling upon the youth to move forward with a strong sense of duty, Mrs. Gupta reminded them that freedom comes with responsibility and that building a developed India is a shared national mission. She urged cadets to uphold the pride of the nation and the enduring spirit of service to Mother India.

Highlights of the Visit

During her visit, the Chief Minister:

  • Reviewed a Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets

  • Witnessed an impressive band performance by cadets of Newman College, Thodupuzha, Kerala

  • Visited the Flag Area, showcasing themes of social development and national progress

Toured the Hall of Fame, where she was briefed on the history and achievements of the NCC

  • Attended a vibrant cultural programme presented by cadets
