Arjun Ram Meghwal Presents Awards at 26th National Youth Parliament Competition for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas

The Prize Distribution Function of the 26th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2024–25 for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) was held on 15 January 2026 at Mavalankar Auditorium, Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.
The event was presided over by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, who distributed prizes to the winning teams for their outstanding performance in the competition.
Inspiring Youth to Dream Big and Serve the Nation
Interacting with the students, Shri Meghwal highlighted the transformative role of teachers in shaping young minds and encouraged students to dream big and remain committed to their goals. Recalling the words of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, he said that true dreams are those “which do not let one sleep.”
On the occasion, the Minister also administered the “Life Pledge” to all participants, urging them to commit themselves to the protection of the environment and sustainable living.
Students as Torchbearers of Viksit Bharat
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Satya Prakash, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, called upon the students to act as torchbearers of hope, innovation and change, and to actively contribute towards realising the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
National-Level Winners Impress with Youth Parliament Performance
The PM Shri School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Suratgarh, Sriganganagar-II, Rajasthan (Jaipur Region), which secured first position at the national level, presented a repeat performance of their Youth Parliament sitting during the function. The presentation was widely appreciated by the dignitaries and audience for its discipline, realism and adherence to parliamentary procedures.
Encouraging Democratic Values Among Students
Dr. Sameer Pandey, Joint Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (Headquarters) congratulated the winning team for their commendable performance. He appreciated the students for effectively showcasing parliamentary practices with dignity and thanked the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for providing a meaningful platform to JNV students to imbibe democratic values and parliamentary traditions.
Shri Niraj Verma, Secretary, Department of Justice and Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (Additional Charge) lauded the Ministry’s sustained efforts in organising the Youth Parliament Programme for JNVs. He described the initiative as a vital instrument for nurturing democratic awareness among the youth, and noted that several schemes of the Ministry have helped make Parliament more accessible to students.
About the National Youth Parliament Competition
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organising Youth Parliament Competitions for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for the past 29 years. Under this scheme, the 26th edition was conducted during 2024–25, with participation from 88 Vidyalayas across 8 regions of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
