An attempted robbery suspect was shot by police during an escape bid in Patna, officials confirmed on Friday.
Identified as Nitish, the suspect was apprehended in connection with a January 9 theft attempt in Maner. Authorities took him to Ratan Tola, his weapon's hiding place, on Thursday evening.
At the scene, Nitish fired at the police while trying to escape, leading to a controlled police response, which resulted in a leg injury for the suspect, according to Patna City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh. Currently hospitalized, Nitish's condition is stable. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
