A Delhi court has requested a response from the National Investigating Agency (NIA) concerning MP Engineer Rashid's plea to attend the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament. Rashid is currently jailed under terror-funding charges.

Additional Sessions Judge Prashant Sharma issued the notice on Friday, scheduling further proceedings for January 21. Rashid's lawyer, Vikhyat Oberoi, is seeking custody parole for his client.

Previously, Rashid was allowed interim bail and custody parole for earlier Parliament sessions and election campaigns. In the last Lok Sabha election, he defeated Omar Abdullah to win the Baramullah seat.
