Singh's New Role: Leading Ladakh's Police Force

In a noteworthy development for Ladakh's law enforcement, Singh has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP), succeeding S D Singh Jamwal, who is now the DGP of Arunachal Pradesh. Singh's first day was marked by a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Police Headquarters.
Singh took the opportunity to interact with senior police officials and the staff at the Police Headquarters in Ladakh. His appointment was made official by an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs on January 2, which highlighted his prior association with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
An IIT Delhi civil engineering graduate, Singh brings extensive experience to his new role, having served in various capacities across Jammu and Kashmir. His distinguished career includes positions such as ADG ITBP, ADG Jammu, IG ITBP, IG Jammu, IG Crime J-K, IG NIA, and SSP in multiple districts of J-K.
