In a significant digital initiative, Haryana Police has identified 1,018 objectionable social media links and profiles, removing 583 so far. The campaign, in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, seeks to address rising illegal online activities.
The Cyber Haryana team monitors content inciting tension and misinformation. Notices under Section 79(3)(b) of the IT Act have enabled swift action against platforms hosting these materials. Director General of Police Ajay Singhal stated the importance of the campaign amid growing digital fraud cases.
A concurrent initiative targets suspicious trading and investment apps, identifying 28, with 14 removed to date. Authorities continue to perform final reviews on remaining apps to ensure a secure digital environment.
