The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has successfully apprehended a suspect from Sikkim in connection with an enormous Rs 13,000 crore drug trafficking operation, according to sources.
The individual, Tilak Prasad Sharma, aged 40, allegedly provided cannabis originating from Thailand to the criminal syndicate.
This arrest follows an extensive crackdown on October 2, 2024, during which authorities seized cocaine and cannabis worth approximately Rs 13,000 crore from locations in Delhi, Gujarat, and Punjab.
The alleged mastermind of the syndicate, Virendra Basoya, is currently not in the country, and international authorities have issued a Red Corner Notice for his son, Rishabh, who remains abroad. The investigation is ongoing.
Over 15 individuals were detained as part of the multi-state operation that unveiled the vast scale and reach of the drug network.
