Delhi Police have apprehended a 39-year-old individual for allegedly defrauding an ATM user via debit card swapping, using the card to acquire household appliances, a police official confirmed on Monday.
Mohd Kareem, a Jafrabad resident, was arrested following an investigation into the case registered earlier this month. During the probe, several household items were seized, allegedly bought with swapped debit cards.
The investigation revealed the suspect was linked to prior theft and cheating offences. Police are working to recover the original debit card and trace the origins of the seized cards, with the investigation still ongoing.
